NIKTO FOLK SCHOOL IS:
A Space for Community Education
The primary goal behind Nikto Folk School is to make creative education accessible to as many people as possible. We do this by relying on the generosity of the community to provide space for gathering, materials and tools for learning, and the skills and knowledge required to create meaningful opportunities to engage in building skills and know-how.
A Space for Community
Learning happens in many forms, and we want to be there to support people in building the skills they need, when they need them. Programming at Nikto Folk School is community led and responsive to what people want and need. As such, we prioritize models of compensation that heavily favor the instructors and event organizers and keep costs down for participants. We hope to be able to grow to be whatever the community needs; a school, a gallery, a forum for conversation, a house of healing… why not?

Nikto Folk School is a committed network of passionate and interesting people who are excited to share skills and learn new ones, practice compassion and inclusion and create webs of connections to expand possibilities, facilitate meaningful conversation and repair the world.

Just a reminder not to take yourself to seriously, we sure don’t. Do big things, change the world, fight the good fight. But please don’t forget to have fun, be silly and enjoy the lives we’ve got.
